Space for Notes or Out of Town Restaurants?

You know we are finishing the new edition of .  It looks great and it's informative, funny and tempts you with tasty dishes.  As Fin said, "When I was proofreading this, my mouth started to water."Notes

However, I have an interesting situation which has arisen.  In our constant attempts to keep costs down we are actually going to have a couple more pages than we strictly need, even with the couple of extras we are throwing in for you this time. (I know, it seems backwards, but trust me more pages=cheaper book.)

That means, we have to decide what to do with these extra pages.

Should we:

  • leave them blank for you to take notes, doodle or make paper airplanes?
  • give you some blank restaurant forms, so you can include your new finds, restaurant ratings and suggested dishes?
  • give you a sampling of ?

I figured there was no one better to ask than you.

What would you like?

Eat Like A Pirate

Avast, me maties! Today be September 19th -  International Talk Like A Pirate Day.

I have been rackin' me brain t' come up with where t' drink me grog and fill me belly t'day without spendin' all me dubloons.

No barnical soup and salt pork today, here be my ideas on where t' Eat Like A Pirate:

  • Eddy's Quick Lunch (pg.31), Aladdin Convenience & Bakery (pg.16) and Nicastro's (pg.60) on Baldwin - so cheap tis like yer robbin' them! But you can leave yer cutlass at home.
  • Neptune's Kitchen (pg.58) or Merivale Fish Market (pg.55) - tis not chum, tis much much better.
  • Shawarma Palace (pg.78) or Beaver Tails (pg.19) - great hook-food for when yer up t' crow's nest.
  • Groovy's Roti Hut (pg. 37) or Caribbean Flavours (pg.24) - for a taste o' t' islands.

Fer all ye lubbers out thar who want t' talk like a pirate too, here be some bountiful links for ye:

So, me beauties, answer smartly - where be you goin' t' get yer salty dog?

Do-you-know-who-I-am? Moment #2

There I was sitting on a patio, sipping my coffee and working away, when I had another "do you know who I am?" moment.

The first was a couple of months ago and involved a waitress seating me at the worst table in an empty restaurant, throwing a menu on the table and rushing away to stand at the bar fiddling with her hair. I don't know how long it would have taken her to actually return since I only waited 15 minutes. Then I got up and left.

Moment #2 was a TMI moment in reverse.
