US Restaurants announce Dine for America Day
On October 5, 2005, restaurants across the United States will band together in a "Dine for America" day, a national fundraising effort to support the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund and help those affected by Hurricane Katrina and their families.
The first Dine for America event was held on October 11, 2001 to raise funds to help the victims of the September 11th attack on New York City and their families.
There's no news yet on whether the CRFA or ORHMA will encourage Canadian restaurants to participate in Dine for America.
A Web site - www.dineforamerica.org - will be launched on Thursday, September 8, where participating restaurants — independent operators and national chains, tableservice and quickservice — can choose from a menu of options on how they would like to participate. Additionally, "turnkey" marketing and promotional materials including posters, tray liners, table tents, and artwork for donation canisters will be available for participating restaurants
